FLY FISHING TUITION/GUIDING SERVICE

You can cast a fly in a fashion so that it arrives at the water yet you struggle to catch fish consistently throughout the season except on stocking day .

Help can be at hand and if you would like to be able to catch trout most times you go fishing we can help by giving one to one tuition on practical fly fishing.

We can brush up your casting and show you how to catch more fish, what lines to use, what flies to use and retrieve styles. We will teach you to recognise a take and how to react to it. We will show you how to play and land fish correctly, to tie the proper knots etc etc etc.

How do I recognise rise forms ? to a lot of anglers a rise is a rise but if you don't recognise the type of rise you could struggle. We will show you how to react to different rises some of which are so subtle that you probably would not see them.

Many anglers cast a fly and immediately retrieve with long fast pulls and repeat it cast after cast. It works on new stockies because they think the pellets have arrived and they need to compete with the fish in the stock pond. After 3 or 4 days this does not work and we will show you what to do to start catching them.

We try to improve your fishing with one to one tuition and so far everyone who has had tuition has hooked fish and improved their confidence enormously. Many of those anglers had never seen a fishing rod prior to the instruction. Many were amazed at the transformation and now catch many more fish than they used to.

Because or instruction is individual we concentrate on what you want to improve on and we will give you some notes at the end which cover the points to consider when fishing.

We catch numerous trout annually mainly from difficult waters and we reckon we know what's what.

Give us a try. You will not be disappointed. Our rates are extremely competitive at £15 per hour, £50 for 4 hours or £100  for 8 hours (we regret that because of high fuel costs the minimum tuition period is 2 hours).

We also do a guiding service for visitors to this beautiful part of the world. It cuts out the guesswork on your part and we will put you where the fish should be and provide the right flies etc and advice. If you want techniques brushing up we will be happy to do so. River fishing is available as well as lakes but is very much affected by weather
conditions.
